Trigger Point massage focuses on releasing trigger points, which are small, tight knots that develop in muscles that may even cause pain in other areas of the body (an effect known as “referral pain”). Trigger point massage incorporates other therapeutic massage techniques from acupressure to myofascial release therapy. Trigger point massage involves a more targeted approach focused directly on releasing painful trigger points, so the sessions are meant to be more therapeutic and results-oriented than luxurious or relaxing.

 

Trigger point massages involve applying direct pressure to trigger points. Each pain point may be pressed, massage, and stretched, sometimes requiring you to actively participate in stretching or other movements.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Deep tissue massage will work out the knots from stressed, overworked muscles and connective tissue (fascia) to alleviate immediate pain, as well as chronic joint and muscle pain. It also promotes faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

 

Deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as chronic muscle pain, injury rehabilitation, Lower back pain or fibromyalgia just to name a few. I know that deep tissue massage carries a stigma of pain with some but I’ve integrated deep tissue therapy with Swedish massage, myofascial release and trigger point. Giving you the great benefits of deep tissue therapy but with a more pleasurable and relaxing experience making it easier for multiple muscle releases.
